Certificate II in Sport and Recreation

A foundational qualification for anyone starting out in sport, community recreation or an active lifestyle career. Ideal for school-based trainees and entry-level roles.

Entry requirements

No formal entry requirements. Suits school students and new starters in a sport or recreation workplace.

Assessment expectations

Assessment is competency-based and on the job — practical observations, workplace tasks, short knowledge checks and a supervisor sign-off.

Career opportunities

Entry-level roles at community sporting clubs, aquatic centres, recreation facilities, or a stepping stone into a Certificate III.

Pathways

Progresses into Certificate III in Sport and Recreation or Certificate III in Fitness.
